What is point-point link? Routing with point-to-point .

What is point-point link?
If the physical links are limited to a pair of nodes it is said to be point-point link.

oint-to-point connections are typically used to connect two systems together over a wide area network (WAN). You can use a point-to-point connection to get data from your local system to a remote system or to get data from a local network to a remote network. Do not confuse point-to-point connections with Point-to-Point Protocol. Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) is one type of a point-to-point connection that is commonly used to connect a computer to the Internet.

Point to Point Networks

This page describes using Air-Frame 10 and 100 models in point to point configurations.

Point to Point Network Diagram

Point to point networks are used to connect one location to one other location. The above diagram shows two connected multi-user networks (using a Hub or Switch). Either location (A or B) may be configured as a(without a Hub or Switch).

Satellite advantages from point to point links

- Independent of the existence or not of terrestrial networks
- Programmable carrier speeds
- Transparent circuits
- Elevated link reliability
- Costs unrelated to distances covered
- Possibility of booking in permanent or occasional mode according to needs
